Why are there so many movies about the ‘underdog’?

You know that scene in an inspirational “based on a true story” type of movie when it seems that there is no way for the main character to bounce back? But then they dig deep. Right when it seems that they can’t give anymore, do anything, or overcome–they dig deep– and they rise up.

We love those types of scenes. 

It’s because at some point in our lives, we all identify as the underdog. And despite the odds, we want to believe that we can overcome them, too. That there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

When life seems to try to knock us down, we face resistance, and things look dim. We forget that inspirational story and we start to feel overwhelmed.

But today I want to remind you of that character, in that one movie, who dug deep that one time– and it changed everything. You too, can dig deep. Remember who you are, and your purpose in life. Remember the bigger picture. 

Who knows? Your time to rise might be right around the corner. Don’t give up. Dig Deep. Rise up. And Walk.
