I'll admit it. I'm guilty.
I'm guilty of getting so lost in today’s details that most of the time I forget the bigger picture.
And even though I'm aware of this pitfall, I still fall for it almost every time. Because it’s so easy to get overwhelmed with the daily hustle. There’s often a lot of moving pieces and it’s not always easy to keep up.
But what if you were running in a marathon and all you could think about was your outfit that day? Or how sore your knee was? Or maybe you didn’t get enough time to prepare for the event so you already feel at a disadvantage? All the while, you’re in the top three of participants and even though a marathon can be long, you’re almost to the finish line?
That’s often how life is. In this race of life…we can get distracted whether by small, trivial matters or big difficult seasons. But for all you know (bigger picture) you’re doing well and you’re probably on the cusp of your next success.

Remember the story of the tortoise and the hare? The tortoise wins, not because he was fast, but because he just kept going. One step in front of the other and the next and the next. The bigger picture was- just keep going. Don’t get stuck in the day to day.
So I encourage you today - things don’t have to be perfect. Don’t get bogged down in the details, your next success might be right around the corner- just keep going.
