What do you want?

“What do you want?”

I remember I was on the road and I had stopped by a random Mexican restaurant and the owner of the restaurant was taking my order and he asked me that question. “What do you want?”

And it took me a minute because I thought, “wait a minute, what do I want?” Philosophical Amariah decided to think deeper in that moment and next thing I know I am thinking, “What am I hoping for out of life? Where do I want to end up? And with whom and when? And–”

“Excuse me miss, what do you want?” The manager asked, this time more aggressively as he was annoyed I still hadn’t answered the question.

Whoops.

I ended up ordering enchiladas that day but that’s beside the point.

Enchiladas, taco, burrito.
Enchiladas, taco, burrito.

What i really walked away with front that encounter was the lingering question “What do you want?” And I had to think about it but I found out what I want.

I encourage you to ask yourself the same question- “what do you want?” Besides the occasional enchiladas and chips and salsa.

Think big. Think down the road. And think about you for once. If you give yourself a minute to really consider the question, it could just be the very thing that helps you in your next step of the journey we call life. And getting closer to what you actually want.

But it’s also the fact that when we identify and call forth what we want that we position ourselves to align with the frequency of experiencing that.

But that’s a whole other post.

Tell me in the comments below- what do you want?
